Illustrated Envelope for Florence Parry Heide
To would have been my very dear friend's 93rd birthday. Her name was Florence Parry Heide and she wrote lots of great children's books. So I thought I would declare today International Read A Florence Parry Heide Book Day. So go to your library and grab one of her books and read it to some special kids in your life.

DoodleBomb #13
This week I thought I'd post one of my warm ups that I do in the morning. Doodlers Anonymous is a great site to see other folk's doodles and enter some doodle challenges. This challenge was to take an advertisement and doodle it. I had several possibilities, but when I saw this ad, I immediately thought of her holding a fish bowl. So here's my doodle and here's the link to Doodlers Anonymous to check them out: http://www.doodlersanonymous.com/submissions.php?showcaseID=13
Happy Doodling!

Laura Eubanks - A Labor of Love
2/12/12
Today I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful artist, Laura Eubanks. Not only is she an extremely talented artist, she’s also a missionary in Mozambique. She’s just returned after spending 7 ½ months serving in Mozambique. She is able to teach art to the children in her mission area. Laura is one of the neatest people I know. She has such a gentle obedient serving spirit, I would love to be more like Laura. She is currently contemplating moving to another mission in Mozambique. You can read more about her mission work on her blog: A Labor of Love A.R.T. You can also purchase prints of Laura’s work to help support her ability to journey to Mozambique. Take a minute and check out her work here: http://laborofloveforthenations.com/.

Happy (Chinese) New Year
Happy Chinese New Year!
I had great intentions to get back into blogging on January 1st. Since I missed that date I thought the Chinese New Year would do nicely. So here I am determined to draw my way through 2012. I can't ever seem to get my sketch book, a little time and a pencil all together at the same time, so I decided to get a sketchbook instead of a calendar this year. I draw something every day. I won't post daily (for that I am sure you are all glad), but I will most the fun stuff.
So I rather like my green dragon. He needs a name - any suggestions? Leave a comment with your suggestion.
Here's hoping your next fortune cookie is filled with awesome sauce.
